ROCK AWARDS ~ SEPTEMBER 15TH

This is the first time I am actually writing from my desk at church instead of at home. I have to say, the picture for the ROCK AWARDS flew, yes flew into this blog! I think I am the only person left in the church with dial up for their computer at home... since it was only me and the preacher. But...now...even he has high speed. It takes FOREVER for a picture to load from home...ok, I'll stop whinning! It just TOTALLY AMAZES ME that these things can work so fast!

Anyway...THE ROCK AWARDS stand for "Reaching Out 2 Christ's Kids". It is a night to celebrate all the awesome teachers and volunteers we have in our children's ministry. I don't feel like we thank them enough for all they do for our children. How many out there think it's only a babysitting hour or two? Some do, I know. But...it's not! Our volunteers work hard on getting a lesson ready for their hour on Sunday, come and share their love, smiles and hugs with our children and help to reinforce what Jesus has asked us, as parents, to teach our children. Come out Saturday, September 15th at 5:30 to celebrate these wonderful people! It's gonna be great fun!!! (You can see more info about that night at www.lovedtolove.org

p.s. Geneva...i wrote some!! :)

HIM, YOU & me.

I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. I believe that God is in control. I believe that children are important. I believe that my life is important to God and that He wants me to share His truth with others. I believe that He has given me gifts that I am to use for His Glory. I believe that my deeds and actions should reflect what God wants me to be and do. I believe in people.

I do not believe that I am perfect. I do not believe that I can always do and say what is best. I do not believe that most people know that Christians are not perfect.

I know that God will forgive me when I ask. I know that I love and care about people. I know that I love talking with children, and just listening to them. I know I love hearing children laugh. I know I love hearing them talk about life and their views on things around them. I know I love seeing their eyes light up when they learn something new about Jesus. I know I love seeing children and adults come to that relization that Jesus loves them and wants them to spend eternity with Him.

I know that Jesus loves me even though I am not perfect. I know that Jesus loves YOU even though YOU are not perfect. I know that He believes YOU are important. I know that He loves and cares about YOU. I know He will forgive YOU when YOU ask. I know He wants YOU to spend eternity with Him. I know He wants to talk with YOU and listen to YOU, hear YOU laugh, hear about YOUR views on things, see YOUR eyes light up when YOU learn something new about Him. I know that Jesus will never give up on YOU.

He's listening right now! Just talk.

Cincinnati Reds Win!

My friend Nancy and I had a great evening out! We met at Chili's for dinner.
(I decided I was still full from lunch so decided dessert would be best!) Then we headed off to see the Reds play. Our family had tickets for the game, but I decided to forgo the great seats right behind the Red's dugout to sit in the nose bleed seats with my great friend Nancy! We haven't been able to spend any time together for such a long time...it was really nice to spend the evening together and try to catch up. William asked his best friend Jon and his dad to go with them and we all actually all rode together, so it worked out really well, and having the parking pass was even better!

When we got there it was muggy and hot, but a nice rain shower came and brought in a little cooler weather. It really made for a beautiful night. Even tho our seats were really high up, they were behind homeplate so we had a great view of the pitches, in each dugout and the whole field. We had some really nice people sitting next to us. One, who actually took this picture for us! Nancy especially liked the little blond boy in front of us. He had a great #1 foam hand that he liked her to see...A LOT! Right Nancy!?! It was a great evening with the retirement of Dave Concepcion's #13 and we were a part of Jr's and Dunn's homeruns. As you can tell from the other picture, my husband was sighted in the crowd. I actually got a phone call from our friend Tony to say...hey, are you at the game? I just saw Bill on the Jumbo Tron! As you can see from the pix, he is sitting next to "another woman"! That will keep everyone guessing!!!

Oh, I forgot...THEY WON!!! GO REDS!!!

pix...Family Matters!

Here's the guys in my life! Husband Bill and my youngest son, William, love the outdoors. You can see them most days canoeing and/or fishing in the Little Miami River though the summer. Bill coaches and William plays competitive baseball also.
My oldest son, Sean lives in Florida and works for Mickey as a Manager of Parades at Magic Kingdom. We always love seeing him (I mean Sean...not Mickey!) We do miss him tons tho! (Yea, Sean, not Mickey...well, we do miss Mickey too!)

To blog, or not to blog...

What does "blog" mean? I have asked many and no one seems to know. I have read some blogs and they seem ok, so I thought I might do a little research. Here's what I found out...

~American Heritage Dictionary says, n. A weblog
~Webster's New Millennium says, n. an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page; also called Weblog, Web log.

~Online Etymology Dictionary says, blog 1998, short for weblog (which is attested from 1994, through not in the sense 'online journal), from (World Wide)Web + log.
Joe Bloggs (c.1969) was British slang for "any hypothetical person" (cf. U.S. equivalent Joe Blow)

I also found a place that had "we blog" instead of "web log". OK, so I guess this is the beginning of my blog. I guess I am "any hypothetical person" at this point. I know, you are thinking, I sure hope this one gets better!...me too!!!
