The following is an email I received today from Sandy. She has been battling cancer for quite awhile and I know she would covet your prayers for her today. Could you please pray for her today and this week? Thank you so very much! Holly
Today's Scripture
“Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26 NIV).
Are you facing something today that seems impossible? With man it may be, but with God, ALL things are possible! If you seem to be in an impossible situation, get with God! Sometimes it’s so easy to focus on our problems and try to solve them in our own strength. But remember, the battle belongs to the Lord. He has a plan for your victory. He has a plan to give you a way out. He is making the things that seem impossible, possible. You can trust Him today. The Bible says that He has plans for your good, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Start believing and confessing today, “I am with God, and with God all things are possible!” Are your bills piling up? With God, all things are possible. Do your relationships need healing? With God, all things are possible. Is there sickness in you body? With God, all things are possible! As you meditate on God’s power, He will work in your life, and you will step forward into that place of victory He has in store for you.
Heavenly Father, thank You for making a way where there seems to be no way. I choose to trust You, and I believe that all things are possible! Show me Your power today. Work through me to encourage those around me to trust You more. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
I lift my eyes to the hills,
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2

Holly,
What a suprise to see this picture on your blog.Thank You for the request for prayer. I just had a phone call from Shirley. It was so timely, along with this mention of prayer, to those who have been lifting me up, it seems for as long as I've known you all. I am forever grateful.
My devotion for today...what better way to start 2008??
The email you posted was my devotion for that day.
At this time I feel that you all need to know just how gratful. This is my "LONG OVERDUE THANK YOU"
Dear, Prayer warriors, Friends and Family,
Four and a half years ago, my life changed forever.
The day started out like any other. I wasn't sleeping well. Then everything changed. I went to see my OBGYN. I had discomfort in all the girl parts. "So we are going to do some blood work" were the doctors words". Which in turn "we need to do surgery".
As I was wheeled back into my room and the doctor, Rex and Becky came to my bed side some how I knew. In the fog of it all, they spoke the word "cancer "I do remember thinking , in my heart "Oh, God I can't do this again " the response in my Spirit was I can do all things in Christ Jesus, who strengthens me. And I knew, Lord You will never leave me or forsake me.
"Well, four years later, I'm still here. Thanks to thoughts and prayers, the skills of my doctors, the strength of my friends and loved ones, and the generosity of all of you who have included me in your thoughts and prayers. And also a little stubbornness on my part. Because , what you see is my God given Blessing, the energy, I do not want to relinquish to chemo.
I won't say I shouldn't be here, I don't think that's right. I don't believe that. I wasn't expected to still be here, that's certainly true.
In the events of all God has shown me since then, and as recent as the last, ( today being 12 being weeks, it seems like an eternity) since I said my "life has changed forever."
I'm a different person in many ways. Everything I've gone through, all the things I've learned, have changed me in ways large and small.
Today I'm not going to think about that. Today there's really only one thing to say.
I'm still here.
Who knows how this will play out? Only God knows? The scripture says " He knew me BEFORE I was in my Mothers womb.
Which, brings us to this day "I will rejoice and be glade in it".
So, Thank You to all of you. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Philippians 1:3 And if you go on and read what Paul said to the church of Philippi he sends to them the example of Christ.
Thank You for every prayer, every card, every word of encouragement, every meal, every visit, because in doing for your brother and sister, you made God smile.
In a book written by, Ken Houts puts it like this.
You are a miracle waiting to happen. The Lord is in each believer to meet the needs of others by the power of the Spirit and the love of God. The needs of the visitors, unchurched and the unsaved cannot be met by church staff. Only by equipping the saints to do the work of ministry will the church gather the harvest.
