Words of Wisdom from my friend Sandy!

My prayers go out to Sandy and her family today and forever! Love you Girl!

Keep Walking Through and Keep Praising

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me…” (Psalm 23:4)

Today is May 9th less then 10 hours 18 years ago my first granddaughter will make her entrance into the world. She will be named Kaitlyn Danielle Gentry. It is a blessing to know God knew her before she was in her mamas womb and in our arms. It is and even bigger blessing that His knew she was to be in our life, my life for 17 years 5 months and 3 days.

It’s evening I’ve learned that evenings and anniversary's are especially difficult. And tomorrow we would have celebrated her 18th birthday.
I am so thankful that Rex is retired and home every night during the week. It is just comforting having each other to lean into. At first I seemed to pass through a cycle of tears each evening as the reality caught me off-guard through conversations and memories that are triggered by pictures and other things, but as you all know, tears can be healing. So I let the tears fall and hope they will provide the balm I need so badly as I trudge through this valley.

I understand these are normal feelings (if “normal” is even the appropriate word for grieving parents, grandparents, brother and sisters cousins aunts and uncles of such a precious life that was taken in her youth), and so we are trusting God as he provides your words of encouragement and the prayers we know you are uttering to see us into each “tomorrow”.

So thank you for continuing to lift us up to our Heavenly Father. I know “God is enough” so I'm trusting He will be enough each and every day as I have a day like today. Your words of encouragement are constant reminders that He is holding me tightly until He brings me home and I'm reunited with our precious Kaitlyn....a wise king said "can I bring the child back"???" NO" but I can go to the child.

Everyone faces challenges and difficulties in life. If you are going through a valley today, know that you are not alone. God is with you! He is working behind the scenes on your behalf, and He will carry you through. Remember, your challenges didn’t come to stay, they came to pass. Don’t get stuck in the valley by allowing your setbacks to become the focus of your life. Jesus endured the pain of the cross for the joy that was set before Him, and when you focus on your victory, you will be able to keep walking through that valley! Shake off bitterness and self-pity and be determined to press forward. With God on your side, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. As you keep an attitude of faith and expectancy, your challenges will become easier, and you will move forward and live the life of blessings the Lord has in store for you.

Father in heaven, thank You for Your faithfulness to me. Thank You for giving me strength during the difficult times. I trust that You are with me today, tomorrow and everyday and I choose to focus on what You have in store for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
